The 2026 Linguistic Society of America (LSA) Annual Meeting was held on January 8–11 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The LSA released their stellar lineup of 2026 award recipients, and we are so delighted to share the news that our very own Xinyu Liao (PhD Student) was awarded First Place in the Student Abstract Award category for his paper, “Directional bias, lexical competition, and frequency effects in sound change: Experimental evidence from perceptual learning” (co-authored with his supervisor, Prof. Yoonjung Kang).
