Dr. Marshall Chasin Gives Audiology Career Infosession

On December 4th 2025, Dr. Marshall Chasin, Doctor of Audiology gave a presentation on Audiology as a career to Linguistics undergraduate students. Dr. Chasin is the Director of Auditory Research at the Musicians’ Clinics of Canada, Adjunct Professor at U of T, and Associate Professor in the School of Communication Disorders and Sciences at the Western University. Audiologists are hearing health professionals who identify, diagnose and manage individuals with peripheral or central hearing loss, tinnitus, vestibular and balance disorders and other communication disorders across the lifespan. 

The presentation covered the process of obtaining a degree in audiology and becoming a professional audiologist, the advantages and disadvantages of Audiology compared to Speech-Language Pathology, and Dr Chasin’s experiences as a clinical and research audiologist for over 30 years. 

After the presentation, there was a Q&A session where he answered questions about topics like grade requirements for audiology programs, how he stays updated on new developments in the field, and how to know if audiology is right for you.
