Between May 15 and 17, 2025, the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities hosted the 56th Annual Conference on African Linguistics, a conference dedicated to scholarship on African Linguistics. Prof. Samuel Akinbo gave a plenary talk entitled, “Iconicity as a motivation for phonological alternation”. He also gave research talks co-authored with Dr. Nkechi Ukaegbu (Ruhr University Bochum), with Michael Bulkaam (UofT MA Student), and with our undergraduate students Cas Duarte, Natasha Vujičić and Alyssa Vorobey.

Thank you to Natasha for sharing the photos from the conference!
